Meth Teeth and Scary Music Videos

Today, I've pretty much been chilling out, doing nothing at all.  During my time doing nothing, I have mostly been surfing the internet, and testing my dog's problem solving skills.  Well, I'll be honest, that's all I've done.

I looked at my stats page earlier.  I have a bit of a statistics fetish, I love it.  That's why I kind of stopped blogging for an entire month; my stats page didn't work.  I lost all will to blog.  But now it's working again, and I've noticed something strange.  In the bit where it says "keywords" or whatever it is that shows you how people found your blog, is the term "meth teeth".  Now, people have been searching for "meth teeth", and coming across my blog.  What the hell.  Seriously.  Google meth teeth and tell me how it's related to my blog.  I'll save you the effort.  I did a post a while back about True Blood, the tv show.  I mentioned the horror that is Anna Paquin's teeth.  I also mentioned the meth panthers, I believe.  So that might be it.

I've also been getting a few page views from a site called alphainventions.com . Never heard of it, but it's sent 18 people my way.  Thank you mysterious website, I may not understand what you have to do with me, but thank you anyway.

So other than staring at my stats, I've come across a few other interesting things.  This isn't new to me, but has anyone seen the short film "Runaway" by Kanye West?  I know he's a douche and all that, but for some reason this video is mesmerizing.   It's 34 minutes long, has all the music from his newest album, and it makes no sense whatsoever.  Click here for a link to the full length film.  I don't even like Kanye's music, but I just find this so interesting.

From what I understand, Kanye sees a fiery thing crashing to the ground while he's driving around in a forest.  He goes to check it out, and he finds some feathery phoenix-woman who has strategically placed feathers.

It cuts to the woman freaking out about everyday household items, since she's from another planet or something.  Then she's crawling around on the grass.  Then she's dancing around the house.

No, she's not naked.  Don't worry.  Then there's some weird symbolism thing going on with a kid running around. Cue marching band and fireworks display and explosions and stuff.  Cut to the bird lady playing with a cup.  He then takes her to a formal dinner in a warehouse type thing.  There's ballerinas dancing around while Kanye somehow ends up on top of the piano he was playing.  Then a waiter serves a giant bird for a meal, and the bird lady loses her shit, which I suppose is understandable.

More scenes of grass frolicking and moody slow motion explosions.  Then there's a conversation between the two about how she can't stay in this world because she doesn't belong and stuff.  Some weird shots of the bird lady that sort of imply that they got it on (is that even possible?), and he wakes up on the roof.  More explosions, then it shows her flying off in flames, and him running through the forest like he was at the start.

It's so freaking weird, but I really like it.  Even if the lyrics are vulgar at some points, all of the music carries this atmosphere that really compliments the film.    You should check it out.

Anyway, other than that, I've been reading about a man called Josef Fritzl, the man who had his daughter locked in a secret basement for 24 years, fathering 7 children with her.  I think I've read enough about it that it could be a stand alone post, so that's most likely going to be next.

Lastly, since I only posted like a day ago, my actual life hasn't changed much.  I think I'm pretty close to getting a job at a service station, thanks to a friend's mother who runs the place.  So if I do, it shouldn't be too bad working there.

Also, I mentioned in the last post about my bf baking a cake.  I expected it to be an absolute disaster.  Apparently, so did he.  When I got there, he had so much cake mixture all over his shirt that it looked like he had thrown up on himself (he hadn't, thank god).  The cake was finished, and ready to eat.  He took it out of the fridge, and I witnessed, honest to god, the most homosexual looking cake I've ever seen.  It was bright pink.  With those candy butterfly things on it in cute pastel colours.  Seriously, it's gay-ness hurt my eyes.  It was just so pretty, it belonged at a four year old's princess themed birthday party.  Sometimes I really question his sexuality.  The pink cake, combined with his love of skinny jeans and hair gel, it makes me wonder...

Australia Day! Also, I have an award!

I've been given an award by Dani-Q, so I'll do that at the end of this post.  Here's a brief update on my life.
Still no job, but the bag shop at the local shopping centre is apparently looking for casual staff to do 8-10 hours a week, which is perfect for me.  I spoke to the lady, and she seemed really positive.  So I went home, got my resume, and went back there a few hours later.  The lady actually recognised me, which was very encouraging.  I got an email back about a job at a grocery store, and they said their hiring process is on hold until mid-February, so that sucks. Other than that, nothing new.

WARNING:  THIS PARAGRAPH IS A BIT GRAPHIC.
I went to the doctors about my digestion-related problems.  He referred me to a pathologist, who had to take blood, urine and faeces tests.  The pathologist wasn't very nice at all.  But she had to deal with my faeces, so I think we all know who came out on top.  BUT, she told me the sample had to be frozen, so I had to do it all again.  Of course, I got stage fright  and didn't go to the toilet for 2 days after that.  I finally did, handed in my jar of poo, and the lady thanked me for it.  I laughed like a demon.  I know it's part of her job, but it must suck.

Since it's Australia Day, and I am Australian, I took part in the customary ritual of consuming a shitload of alcohol.  Being sick to begin with, I didn't consume as much as what I planned, but I still attempted to have fun.  There were too many people in town, and line-ups of about 30 mins for each club.  One place had a line for about 2 hours, apparently.  Also, thank god we had a designated driver, because the taxi line went the whole way down the street.  No thank you.
But now, today actually IS Australia Day, and I'm not doing anything Australia-related for it. Oh well, I think last night made up for it.

Last thing before I do the award bit, I just received a text message from the boyfriend.  He is apparently making a cake. He won't tell me what flavour.  I fear for the world.  This will not end well.

And now for the award!
 Life Is Good

Apparently, since I have been given an award I have to answer questions and pass it on?  I think I can do that.

If you blog anonymously, are you happy doing this? If you aren't anonymous, do you wish you started out anonymously, so that you could be anonymous now?

To be honest, it doesn't really matter to me whether I'm anonymous or not.  I mean, I haven't given away all the details to me life, so to the casual reader, I sort of am.  If you wanted to go all out stalker on me, it wouldn't be too hard to find me though.

Describe an incident that shows your inner stubborn side.
I continue to argue, even when I know I'm wrong.  Mostly with my parents.  And if my side of the argument is going badly, I blame someone else and they cop it worse than I do.

What do you see when you really look at yourself in the mirror?
I see a sack of flesh with limbs and a face and other appendages.  I also stare at my eyes until they look more grey than blue.  Then I notice my terribly shaped eyebrows and run away before I'm tempted to shave them off.

What is your favourite summer cold drink?
I liked Pepsi Max, until I realised that it was one of the things that makes my digestive system do weird stuff, so I'm trying to cut down on it.

When you take time for yourself, what do you do?
I have very long showers.

Is there something that you still want to accomplish in your life?
Of course!   I haven't even had a real job yet!  Let alone a life, proper relationships, kids, etc etc.  All that normal life stuff people do when they have lives.

When you attended school, were you the class clown, the class overachiever, the shy person or always ditching?
Depends on the class really.  And who was in the class.  But I was usually seen as the overachiever, but only because I consistently turned up for class, and did the work (never the homework though).

If you close your eyes and want to visualize a very poignant moment in your life, what would you see?
When someone I was very close to was drunk, and said some very hurtful things that they didn't mean.  Even though they apologized, we were both hurt by the end of it, and it started the decline of our friendship.  We don't even talk anymore.  It sucks, because they were one of my best friends, but that incident brought out all the problems we had ever had. And don't worry, people who are reading this.  It's none of you.  You don't even know this person.

Is it easy for you to share your true self in you blog, or are you more comfortable writing posts about other people and events?
I share my true self I guess.  It's sort of a shallow picture, because I try not to name too many people, but what I do tell is like the top layer of my true self.

If you had the choice to sit down and read a book or talk on the phone, which would you do and why?
Read.  I can't talk on the phone.  I hate it.  My grandmother told my mum it was like talking to a rock when you're on the phone to me.  I'm a little bit better now, but I still hate it.

So that's it for the award bit.  I have to give it to other people now?  How about Morgan from the Adorkable Ditz' Missteps.  She always reads my posts.  I like her.  She's nice.

18th of Novmeber: Part 2. Pigs make terrible engineers.

I'd just like to start out with this.

It's only been 8 hours since my last post, and I used that time to sleep.  But I figured I may as well take advantage of all this spare time I have this morning by blogging.  Last night's post counts as today's, but I'll keep writing as if this is a new day.  I'm about 3000 words behind, so I could catch up if I just had one solid post.  Unfortuately, I don't think this will be it.  I'll try though.

The other day, I saw an advertisement for Brainetics.  It's supposed to be athletics for you brain, hence the name.  Since it's one of those ads that go for like 20 minutes and sell you stuff, I assume its a scam.  It looks pretty interesting though.  The ad consists of this:  A guy is teaching an incredibly racially diverse maths class, full of model-standard ten year olds.  Seems normal, this clearly isn't set up.  The teacher asks a stupidly difficult question, and the children all jump at the chance to answer it.  Now, I'm in university, and I don't really know how to multiply.  And these kids are multiplying double digit numbers.  I can't compete, I don't know my 42 times tables yet.  So, I am impressed by these wonderfully diverse, intelligent mini-mathematicians.  But that's all part of the plan.   The ad then begins to tell me that MY children can also have these same math super powers.  I'm guessing my children come in the box with the flashcards, or are they sold separately?  Anyway, it's supposed to teach kids the easiest and most effective maths strategies.  If it actually does what it claims to, then it seems amazing.  But as with most things, with the effort you put into making this work, you might as well put the effort into learning maths the normal way.

Many people have made points about it being all shortcuts, and no real learning.  They say that children will have trouble later on in high school, when they're required to make their own equations and think outside the box.  This is probably true.  After all, there is the Law of Associative Inhibition that states that: “If a is already connected with b, then it is difficult to connect it with k, b gets in the way”. In this situation, maths  is already connected with the brainetics strategy, then it is difficult to connect maths with another strategy of learning, because brainetics gets in the way.  You learn something, how to use a cash register for example, then when you are presented with a new one, you're disorientated, making mistakes all over the place.  This is what will probably happen with braintetics.  It seems good for the younger years, when they're still learning the basics of maths, but when the kids get to older grades, they're screwed.  The parents are also screwed over by the payment plans.  They can pay $100 up front, or they can pay a $15 trial, then fork out 2 payments of $99.  So, you can take a risk and pay $100, or be really careful and wary of it's scammy-ness, and pay $213.  Not suspicious at all, is it?

Enough about that.  During my internet trawling to find a blog topic, I was linked to the MMMBop video, by Hanson.  If you've somewhow escaped the unpleasantness that is Hanson, here you go.  Actually, it's not that bad.  But it could get annoying if I heard it constantly, as what happened in the 90s.  I did some research on the song, for some strange reason, and I came across something brilliant.  A high school in America came up with a fundraising campaign called "Stop the Bop".  The school played the song constantly before class, after class, and between classes until they raised their target amount of money, and "Stopped the Bop".  Now, I think this is genius.  Seriously.  I want to go back in time to when my grade was raising money for formal, just so we can melt some brains and earn money at the same time.

Speaking of formal, it's been nearly a year now.  For you Americans, formal for us is your prom/graduation/I don't even know.

That was a picture from my formal.
But everyone graduating this year is going on about how excited they are/were at graduating.  I just want to go back in time now, and relive that time from graduation to the start of uni.  It was easily the best few months of my life.  I don't regret not doing stuff, I just want to relive those times because they were so much fun.

Also.  I bought some iTunes gift cards for myself, since the Cleaning Nazi won't let me use credit cards online.  I bought Angry Birds for my iPod touch.  I didn't know what the game was, I just saw that it was rated highly and that people seemed to like it.  I started playing it... and I LOVE it.  It's physics based, where you shoot birds out of a slingshot and into various structures built by pigs.  The aim of the game is to destroy the pigs and their buildings.  It's not a difficult concept to understand, but the game is quite challenging.  It's surprisingly fun, and it's a real time-eater.  Also, pigs make terrible engineers.  Their strategy seems to be, "lets make everything out of wood and glass, just to make it easier for the kamikaze birds to plough through".  I don't mind though.  It's fun, and totally worth the few dollars I spent on it.

Anyway, I think that's enough for the moment.

18th of November : What day is it?

Now, this whole "new day begins at 12:00" is confusing the shit out of me.  I believe my most recent post was titled 15th of November.  Except I thought I wrote it yesterday, or the day before.  I don't fucking know anymore.  NO WAIT.  I started writing it on the 15th, and midnight came around, and it ended up being finished and posted on the 16th.  Now, my dilemma is, where the fuck did the 17th go?  Or the 16th?  I lost a day somewhere.  Is it actually the 18th today?

HOLY SHIT.  It's past midnight.  That's why it's the 18th.  Right, I've got it now guys.  Don't worry.

Now that I know what day it is (I believe it is currently Thursday) I can continue on with the bits and pieces of my last few days that I actually remember.  Now, a disclaimer.  You may read this, and assume I did some silly things under the influence of alcohol.  I was drunk, but not once did I lose control of what I was doing.  The days and times are just jumbled up because I don't pay attention to it anyway.

Now.  Let's start with Monday night, or what I shall refer to as Monday night.  I was talking to a person over facebook chat.  He was a guy who I sort of knew from years back.  He was a few grades above me in high school.  I added him to seee if he would accept.  After seeing the friend request, he sent me a message asking if I knew him.  I did what any decent internet stalker would do, and I avoided all direct communication.  I'm a stalker, not a talker.

So I ignored this message, and completely forgot about it.  He added me anyway, about a week later.  Monday night, he starts talking to me on facebook chat.  It's basically just me saying "oh, no I don't know you, I just stalk you, but not like hardcore stalking, since I don't know anything about you".  I think he was dissappointed at my fail-stalk.  I don't really have much to add, but I'll keep you all in the know.

What else happened?  Monday night... Tuesday comes next I think.  So I do nothing for most of Tuesday.  I decide that I'm going shopping for booze and shoes (booze and shooze?)  So I text people, and they're all lame and doing exams and other stuff that responsible people do.  Fuck that.  So I go to the bus stop, and I wait.  I get on the bus, off the bus, and I start shopping.  I don't find any decent clothes, so I look for new shoes to go with my old clothes.  Unsuccessful.  I get gel inserts for my old shoes instead.  I also get a new town-bag.  Town-bags have some pretty specific requirements.  Has to have a long strap, not be very big.  Has to match outfit and shoes, MUST have inside zip pocket.  Anyway, I got one.  So I've got my shoe stuff and a bag, so now I need booze.  I go to Dan Murphy's, the alcohol grocery store that I may have mentioned previously.  I buy my drinks, totalling $136 (to be fair, $100 of that was because I wanted cash out).

After that, I catch a bus home, and get in the shower.  The Cleaning Nazi comes home and screams at me about going to the dentist.  The appointment was at 4pm, and it was about 3:15pm at the time.  So I screamed back.  I got ready as fast as possible, and she kept screaming, until she realised me were going to be 45 minutes early.  We go to the dentist, normal dentist stuff happens.  They say I have crooked teeth, and that I should go to the oral hygienist, but I can't get an appointment until next year.  Oh well.

Go home, and I do my hair and makeup.  I put on outfit 1, then outfit 2, then back to outfit 1.  I show the Cleaning Nazi, and I get the thumbs up.  Then she does some weird gesture towards my breasts, so I change to outfit 2.  She tells me she likes outfit 2, but 1 was better.  So I change again.  Then Dad comes home, and there's more breast gestures, so I stick to outfit 2.

I get ready, and we pick up the friends and go to one of their cousin's friend's place.  So, a friend of a friend of a friend's place.  I didn't know any of them.  My solution?  Get drunk.  And so I did.  There were faces being made at me, but I was drunk, so who cares?  I know what they were probably thinking, but oh well.

I was talking to some guy about his tattoos.  On one of his arms he had a sleeve of norse mythology symbolism.  At the top near his shoulder, he was telling me the wolf was Thor.  Now, I may have been wasted, but I knew damn well that the wolf in Nordic mythology is Fenrir.  I just hope he knew that, and was simplifying it for me.  He then told me about the tattoo on his chest.  He reckons it was a Nazi symbol, but it didn't look like any kind of Nazi-related imagery I've ever seen.  Just the term "Nazi tattoo" had my friends wide-eyed with horror.  I wasn't fussed, since he was full of shit anyway.  He also had an Autobots symbol on the back of his neck.  Now that's just lame.

Autobot symbol from Transformers

When it got to around 9 or 10 at night, the maxi taxi turned up.  I didn't want to waste drinks, so I sculled a few and shoved one in my bag before I left.  We got in the taxi, and went to town.  We went to Cactus Jack's, a mexican themed bar and restaurant.  They have $9 jugs.  Of course, this asks for many jokes about how I don't need their jugs, I have plenty of my own.  I was talking to some guy called Grant I think.  He was 28, and a former geography teacher, now a union representative.  Weird, I forget that 28 year olds are still young enough to go nightclubbing.  In any other situation, 28 is not old at all.  In night clubs, its just weird that I socialise with people 10 years older than me, and they aren't condescending douches to me.

Anyway, we meet up with a bunch of physiotherapy students (the friends I'm with are physios).  They go about their usual business, and I try to learn their names.  That goes fairly well.  I also start feeling bad about the fact that I never mentioned my plans with the bf, so I do a bit of drunk dialling, and he knows exactly what's up.

Now this is about the point in the night where I stop taking note of the order of events.  We leave Cactus.  I see a bunch of people I know, and one of them has a pair of dice (die?).  One of them has an action (tickle/rub/kiss etc) and the other has a body part.  I rolled them, and got an ear massage.  Nice.

I ran into that crazy guy I talked about AGES ago, the one who started crying when I left to go home.  He tried to get me to go inside with him, but I had to find my friends, who I had somehow lost.  I found them again, then stuff happened.  I don't even know.  There was a guy called Troy with a lip piercing, and he asked if my boobs were real.

Skip ahead in time, and my friends are getting pizza.  I find the guy with the dice again, and I hug him as if I hadn't seen him an hour earlier.  There's some old guy called Gino talking to me.  I'm not very nice to him, but he's like 50-something.  I don't have to be nice to old guys hitting on me and trying to buy me pizza.

Then I don't even remember what comes after this.  Not because I was blind drunk, just because all the clubs are pretty similar, and I haven't been going long enough to tell the difference.

Somewhere around this time, my friends are trying to get into contact with Danique.  I may have even called her, and I called her a pussy.  Quite a lot.  Because she refused to come to the other side of the street, where all her friends were.  Pussy.  She went home at like 1 I think.  That's what she said in the message she sent me.  I think.  I may not have read it. But anyway, I last until 3, when we all pile in the designated driver's clown car and go home.

I wake up this morning, and I stumble around as if I'm still drunk.  I can't feel my toes.  Other than that, I feel pretty good.  I get on facebook, and everyone else who was out that night is doing the same as me.  Assessing injuries and eating strange things for breakfast.  I do pretty much nothing for the rest of the day, until 6, when I go to work.  One of the girls I work with was out in town with me, and I saw her a few times.  Apparently I kept telling her about how the gel inserts in my shoes were falling out.  Sure enough, I went from 4 at the start of the night, to 1 at the end.  So I wasn't doing any drunk rambling.  It was all true.

Now, that pretty much updates you from Monday, all the way to now, which is very early Thursday morning.  When it's daylight, I think I'll go shopping again.  Thursday night, I believe there may be some sort of a plan for going to a tavern, or the uni club or something.  I don't know, but I'm all for it, since I'm not working.

Now, it's like 1am.  My parents aren't too happy about my weird sleeping pattern, but who cares.  I get enough sleep, just not at the same time as them.  As long as I get to work, I don't think it should matter what I do for the rest of the time.  I'm going to end this here, since I can barely keep my eyes open.

13th of November: UNI IS OVER

As you can tell from the title, uni is over for the year.  Thank god!  I'm so happy, but it hasn't sunk in yet.  I can't get used to the feeling of being able to do what I want without feeling guilty about not studying.  Earlier, I was thinking "Man, I wish I could play the ps3", and then I realised there's absolutely nothing stopping me, and I move on without playing the PS3 anyway.

I don't really have a planned topic for today, since I'm running out of creativity and privacy to think about stuff.  So, to get my word count up, I googled "random questions to ask people", and I'll answer them.  Hopefull it will inspire me .

Do you remember your favorite teacher?  - I didn't really have one.  The ones that liked me were quite tough, and I never did my homework, so I didn't like them that much.  They saw straight through me.  At uni though, I had a lecturer last semester that was awesome.  He taught sociology, and he was a total hippy.  He wore tie-dye shirts all the time, and did all this other hippy stuff I can't be bothered explaining.  He's like the local news station's go-to guy for an "expert authority" so he's on the news pretty much every night.  It was funny seeing him the first few times, but now my parents even recognise him.

Which is your favourite cereal and why?  -
Not a big fan of cereal.  Actually, I am, I fucking love cereal.  But I'm too lazy to eat a real breakfast most days, cereal takes a lot of prior planning and time management, and I kind of suck at that.  My favourite at the moment is Fruity Bites.  It's like pillow shaped lumps of whatever cereal usually is, and it's filled with a gelatinous substance, kind of like jam.  Sounds a bit gross, but its not.  Eating it makes me thirsty.

As a side note, the question originally asked "what are your favourite 2 careers and why?"  and I read it wrong and went on about cereal.  So I changed the question, so I don't look like a complete retard.

Which is the hardest thing you ever had to do? - Hmm, I really don't know. Stand up to some shitty friends I guess?

When was the last time you lied and to whom and why? -
I don't really remember.  I don't lie that much anymore.  It's more like "temporarily withholding the truth about my performance in anatomy to my parents".

Tell me about something you really regret? - Taking anatomy.  I'm sure I go on about it enough, so I'll spare you. There's not that much else I regret.  That's good I suppose.

Tell me about a mistake you made? -
When I used to work at Hungry Jacks (Burger King for you Americans) years ago, an Indian family walked in and ordered.  They wanted 4 burgers, and 4 large drinks.  Because they were Indian, and I was an idiot, I thought they said "rings", not "drinks".  Rings, as in onion rings.  So they waited patiently for like 15 minutes, while I got them their onion rings, which take ages to cook.  And then they told me I got it wrong.  They could have told me 15 minutes earlier, but they didn't.  Oh well.

Tell me about someone in your family? -
I'll tell you about someone in my family I haven't mentioned yet.  My older sister Alyce.  She's 23, or 24, I don't remember. She was born as a perfectly normal baby, but when getting her triple antigen injections (which were compulsory at the time I believe), she had a terrible reaction, and since then, she's been special needs.  There's no real term for it, since doctors refused to accept that it was their fault.  So she's classified as "intellectually disabled".  That means she can't talk too well, usually she can get her point across, but sometimes not, and it's annoying as hell.  When you ask her how old she is, she tells you whatever number comes into her head.  Usually 4.  So that's why I don't remember her age. She can be taught to do somethings, like using the key to unlock the house, but other not things, like checking for cars before crossing the road. She also doesn't get the concept of personal space, and she walks wherever she wants.  At 7pm on the dot, she's stripped off in the bathroom, screaming for mum to shower her.  She does this regardless of who else is in the house.  Many a time, visitors (including my boyfriend, several times) have walked into our living room, and were treated with the sight of my overweight, special needs sister naked with a shower cap on her head.

She's finished school now, and she goes to this place with carers and other disabled people, and I really don't like her going there.  They steal her money, and teach her bad habits.  She's learned to call me "a shit" when I piss her off.  As in, "Megan, you're a shit!". And when I call her Oscar, and ask her if she's a boy or a girl, she usually hits me, pretty damn hard.

Tell me about someone you envy? - I envy anyone who can fit into the average costume at a costume shop.  Those things are tiny.  And my ass is not.  And I have a lot of friends with costume party fetishes.

Tell me about something you've achieved? -
I finished my first year of uni today :)

Tell me about the worst punishment you had when you were a child? - Public humiliation at the hands of a teacher?  I don't even remember what I did, but the relief teacher wouldn't let me go to the toilet (I had my period, and it was getting rather unpleasant).  I told her I'd explain it to her at lunch time, as long as she let me go.  She didn't, and by the time I did leave, it was too late.  Red all over my pants, all over the chair I was sitting on, and I just ran to the office crying, and I went home that day.  Apparently, my friend had a massive fight with her about it after I left.  The teacher wouldn't believe my friend either (what the hell, the evidence was freaking everywhere), and made her clean it up as punishment.  After that day, I only had her once, and she recognised me well enough to swap classes with another teacher that day.  I hope she learned something from that day.

Tell me about someone you really admire? -
I admire people who can stick to diets.

Tell me about the last movie you've watched? -
I don't even remember last time I watched a movie.  I've been too busy.  I think it may have been 17 Again, with Zac Efron in it. It was on the external hard drive of movies my BF left at my place, and I went through, looking at random movies.  It wasn't that bad.  I expected it to be worse.

Tell me about a country you would like to visit most and why? -
America.  Because it seems awesome.  Anywhere in Europe.  Anywhere, actually.

Tell me about your favourite music / song / band? - I can't be bothered talking about my favourite band, but look up the song "Hey Leonardo" by Blessid Union of Souls.  It's an awesome song.

Tell me about something you would happily do again? - I'm tempted to say "go on another cruise ship".  I like the cruise ship, and I like going to different places, but I don't like the "stuck in the middle of the ocean" bit.  I can look past that though, if I'm on a cruise ship.

Name your 5 favorite foods? -
1= Avocado.     2= Chicken.   3= Prawns (if they're done properly)   4= Chocolate.    5= Spaghetti?

Do you like to shop? - YESSSSSSS

How often do you go online? - Whenever I'm not sleeping, working, or doing something important.  Kind of sad.

Something or someone you miss the most from childhood? - Not having to worry.

Are you usually late, early or right on time? - Usually early, unless it's work, and then I'm late because mum insists that everyone come to drop me off.  Especially if they don't want to go.  She fights with them until they do, even if it makes me 10 minutes late.

Are you happy with your life for the most part right now? -
I guess so.

You can have one of the following two things: trust/love? -
I guess I choose love.  Right now, I lack trust in others, which prevents me from loving them.  If I had love, I wouldn't need trust, because I would love them enough to forgive them for anything.

Are you the kind of friend that you would want to have as a friend? -
Considering the fact that I'm the most reliable person I know, HELL YES.

Your best friend dies, what would you do? - Wonder who my best friend is.  I don't really have one.

When and how was the last time you told someone HONESTLY how you felt? -
About what?  I'm usually honest about how I feel, but it's never really a deep and meaningful conversation.

What would be harder for you, to tell someone you love them or that you do not love them back? - I'm not sure, since I've never really been in either situation.  Probably to tell them I don't love them back.  I've had to turn down a few guys in the past, and I still feel bad when I see them and talk to them.  It wasn't like hardcore love or anything though.

What do you think would be the hardest thing for you to give up on? - Junk food.

Would you give a homeless person CPR if they were dying? -
Since I don't really know CPR well enough to do it on anyone, no.

Are you old fashioned?
- In some ways, I guess.

Which would you choose, true love with a guarantee of a heart break or have never loved before? - All true love ends in heart break, because one of you has to die sometime.  And if I never love, does that mean I can't give/recieve affection, or just the true love/lifetime/soulmates kind of love?

If you could do anything OR wish for anything that would come true, what would you wish? - I wish I could have a loophole-free time machine that creates no paradoxes, and does not cause any problems for me.

Whats your middle name? -
Peta.

How big is your bed? - I think it's a king/queen single.  I don't know, or care.  I'm not fat enough for a double yet.

What music are you listening to right now? - It's not music, but my ceiling fan.

What are the last 4 digits in your cellphone number? - 7930

What was the last thing you ate? -  Dinner.  Which was KFC.

Who was the last person you hugged? -
Probably the BF.  I'm not into hugging.

How is the weather right now? - Pretty damn good.  I'm inside though, so who cares?

10th of November: Just some thoughts.

Last night, after I was done with the part 2 blog post, inspiration hit me like a kick in the face.

I was laying in bed frantically typing away on my little Hiptop about all these story ideas I had.  Well, they weren't ideas for a new story, but old ideas that have come back into my mind.  Everyone's been talking to me about writing books and doing NaNoWriMo and stuff, and I've been thinking about my own story.  I used to have a very clear idea of the plot, and where it was going, but now it's just small disjointed bits and pieces.  In my mind, I'm still cutting out characters that don't belong.  I'm even considering cutting out the main character and switching it to another one.  It's a weird situation.  Like, you know when there's a group of characters, and the main character is usually the leader of the group?  In this story of mine, there's the main character, who is separate to the rest of the group and their leader.  It's weird.  GAAAAAAAAAAAAAH.  Just thinking about it is making me want to write.

This is what I had to use to write down my ideas.

Since I'm in the mood, I might as well check out this program called yWriter5.  I downloaded it, but I haven't really tried to use it yet, since I haven't written anything fictional in about a year from what I remember.  Just from looking at it, it would be good if you were into the "highly organised, keep tabs on all characters at all times" kind of writing.  As much as I'd like to be organised, I'd prefer to just write.  It's good to do something like that later on, maybe like half way in, just so you know that you haven't forgotten any characters, and they haven't mysteriously disappeared due to your laziness. Personally, I'd just rather write my little bits and pieces, string them together, then be in awe of the terrible mess I left behind.

Enough about that.

I thought I had my anatomy exam today.  I was all ready to get in and study this morning, then fail in the afternoon, then go to work afterwards.  I looked at the calendar bit on my phone, and wondered why I put my exam on the wrong day.  Then I realised it wasn't the calendar that was wrong, but my brain.  I checked the exam timetable, then texted a girl I know who is also doing anatomy, and the exam is on FRIDAY.  THANK GODDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD.

That gives me like a whole 2 days to pretend to study.  Cool.

I was kind of annoyed about how I was supposed to reach 20,000 words today but I couldn't because of the exam.  Now that it's out of the way for the moment, 20 000 here I come!

First, watch this.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hXlzci1rKNM

A radio program held a sort of talent show for homeless people, and they found this guy - Daniel Mustard.  Now, despite being homeless, hairy, and wearing strange hats, he has talent.  If the amount of raw passion in this video doesn't get to you, then have a look at him now, nearly a year later.  He went to rehab, is no longer homeless, and he doesn't abuse drugs or alcohol.  This video is him clean, sober, and doing a preview of his new EP coming out soon.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tPBTaX7fn2M

Before anyone says "How can he be homeless if he has a guitar/access to a computer etc etc", he was given the guitar by the radio station, who is now funding him to do his EP.  He gets on the computer, and has a facebook page because he uses public library computers.

Moving on, the Cleaning Nazi is hooked on the tv show True Blood.  I first heard about it years ago when Dani-Q was telling me about this show she was watching, about a mind-reading chick called Sookie and a vampire called Bill.  Now, just from that description, it sounds pretty bad.

Anyway, I continued on with my life, until I decided to watch the first episode.  I ended up watching the whole first season.  I wouldn't say I was addicted, just interested enough to want to see where it was going.  I got halfway through the second season, then lost interest and stopped watching.

When the Cleaning Nazi found out about it, she asked my cousin what it was about.  She told her it was soft-core porn (which it kind of is, but they made it seem like I was a porn addict).  Of course, she didn't want her daughter watching that rubbish, even though I had already decided it was too crappy to keep watching.

To set her straight, I made her watch it.  And now she can't stop.  She keeps saying "oh, I don't like it, but I want to see what happens".  You may call me a hypocrite, because I said the same thing, but the difference is that I stopped about 2 episodes into season 2.  She watches about 3 episodes a night, and gets angry with me because the 4th season hasn't been filmed yet.  Yes, apparently that's MY fault.

It's a bit ridiculous though.  In the town where this is set, everyone is either a mythological creature or a drug addict.  Or sometimes both, in the case of the in-bred meth-panthers. Yes, meth-panthers.  Panther people who are on meth.  It must have taken a genius to come up with that.  I couldn't come up with something stranger if I tried.

Also, look at the main character's teeth.

I can't stop staring.

I know that she can't help it, and she was born that way, blah, blah, blah.  But you'd think that if she wanted to be an actress, she would fix any physical oddities that she could?  Its not like she can't afford it.    I can't decide whether I think she's pretty or not.  It really depends on the episode, and the angle, and whether her mouth is closed or not.  Like this photo above, Anna Paquin can look pretty scary.  But as you can see below, she looks pretty good sometimes too.

But the point of bringing True Blood up is the hilarious accents, particularly in relation to the character's names.  Bill is pronounced Beel, Sookie is Sookeh, Sam is Saym, and Tara is Terra.  I seriously thought her name was Terra until I saw the credits halfway in season 2 and my mind exploded all over the place.

I know that I probably have a weird accent to most, since a South African friend's mother told me that she expected every Australian to sound like me.  So, I guess I shouldn't be one to judge the accents of other people.  I think it's just because none of the actors on the show actually have a real southern accent, so it seems a lot worse than what it could be.

That's pretty much all I wanted to say about True Blood.

Is that space large enough that you know I'm going to start a new topic?

I've noticed a trend with blogs.  They're usually female writers.  They have an aspiration to eventually become a published author, and they put excepts of their stories on their blogs.  They are generally students of some kind.  Quite a lot of them have children, or autistic people in their families.  Or autistic children.  Either way, from what I've seen by continually hitting the Next blog button, is that there's a lot of people with autism in their families.  And they all blog about it.  I find that odd.  Their blog descriptions generally include the words "neurotic", "rant", "insanity", all that sort of stuff.  In real life, these sorts of things are bad, and get you in a lot of trouble.  In a blog however, weirdness, mental instability, and various other psychological conditions make you cute and quirky, just like every one else.  I'm not taking a shot at anyone personally, but these words are majorly over-used.  They are also serial daters.  I'm beginning to wonder if blog writers just go on ridiculous dates  just so they can blog about it.  Where do they even find these people?  They meet people, go on a date, meet a new person, go on a date etc etc.  It just keeps going.  How many people do you meet on an average day?  How many of these people do you date?  How many of these people do you NOT date?  I don't understand how its done.  I think a wizard did it.

Speaking of wizards, there's a group on facebook, its called "Harry Potter is a bit unrealistic. I mean a ginger kid with 2 friends".  I laughed pretty hard at that, despite my natural red hair.  But that's not what I wanted to talk about.

Look at them!  How come they've grown and changed so much, and I still feel exactly the same as my 2001 self?  It's not fair!   Why do they get to grow up?  And why did no one kill Emma Watson for those god-awful outfits?  Look at that jumper!

They're all so different now.  Emma Watson has all these photoshopped nudes of her, Rupert Grint is doing sex scenes in movies, and Daniel Radcliffe is a total skirt chaser.  Despite his short stature, he seems to be proud of his ability to get his co-workers into bed.  Good for him.  I'd be more impressed if he could do it WITHOUT being the richest child star ever.

So, I  don't think I'm going to hit 2000 words for my daily word count, so I'll settle for the 1667 word count for normal people who have stuff to do with their lives.  As for the 20,000 total, I'm not sure if I've hit it.   Haven't done the maths yet.  I've noticed that Dani-Q is falling behind a bit because she's lazy she has to study.  She also has an anonymous hater who just kind of says stuff, and doesn't really put in too much effort.  I have my suspicions about who it is, and if I'm right, they just want a reaction from her.

The blog version of chain mail?

Ok, I'm supposed to pass this on to 7 people or something, but I don't think I even know about 7 blogs I think.  I'm going to do this anyway, because its sort of similar to the blog I wanted to do anyway.

A.) Your Fave Youtube Video

I know it's only supposed to be one video, but I don't care.

The Bed Intruder Song - You need background info to understand this one I think.  A guy broke into a house and tried to rape this chick, and a news crew came and interviewed her brother.   This song is a remix of the interview.  It doesn't sound that funny, but I love it, and I sing along to it.

Look At Me - Semi Precious Weapons. This band is closely associated with a highly controversial artist, which many people hate. So just listen to the song before you pass judgment. I've seen them in concert, and it was fantastic.

My hands are Bananas - This video is amazing. One of my all time favourites. I saw it years ago, and I still sing it with a friend of mine. One more video before I move on.

Na Na Na - My Chemical Romance. Remember the mopey little emo band that was big around 2005? This is the first single from their new album, and it's fantastic. It's like an ADHD ice cream with a rainbow on top. Seriously. There's an astounding amount of colour and energy in this video. It's silly, and more than a little bit cheesy, but I love it.
I'll stop with the videos now. Moving ON!

B.) A Photo that will make everyone say Awww

C.) A funny T-shirt

In case you can't read it, it says : This T-Shirt is 100% Organic : 65% baby seal, 25% panda, 10% manatee

D.) Something geeky

What's more geeky than a list of the most bizzare dating websites?

E.) Link/Image to your fave movie
Hmmm.  I don't really know what my favourite movie is.  I'll give you a link to one of my favourites, but don't worry.  Its supposed to be a silly movie, not dead serious.

F.) A link to the newest blog you've discovered
I don't really find new blogs.  If I find one, I'll tell you.

G.) An item on your wish list
It's a time machine.

Shake that healthy butt!

I honestly regret getting on this site today.

I went to anatomy.  I saw cadavers.  I poked a few, as I usually do on Thursday mornings.  I came home, got out my books and began to study.  I thought, "oh, I'll do a quick check of all the social networking sites and get into study".  Did that happen?  Well, sort of.

I looked at Morgan's blog (here) and she was talking about the song "Baby Got Back" by Sir Mix A Lot, among other things.  I watched the video, laughed at it's ridiculousness, and was reminded of something from high school.  Then the song was stuck in my head while I was doing my anatomy study.

I went shopping to get away from all the anatomy and music.  Didn't stop me from thinking.  I sat there, eating dinner, wondering why men like Sir Mix A Lot are so attracted to women with a thick layer of adipose tissue over their gluteus maximus.  Then one of the anatomy lab assistants walked past, and I lost it.  Ran for the hills (or rather, to the nearest shoe store) to take my mind off people's asses.

Look Alive, Sunshine.

It's only been a few hours since I finished my last post, but it's a brand new day, and everything starts fresh if I go to sleep.

Firstly.  I joined Twitter a while back.  Not because I want to do all the twittering and tweeting and twatting and whatnot.  I just want to stalk some celebrities.  Some of them are celebrities I don't give a damn about.  Stephen... I don't even remember his last name, that's how much I don't care.  Stephen Fry!  I was told that he was witty and clever and stuff.  Not on Twitter, apparently.  He just goes on about all these absurdly British things, and how he goes to random interviews and concerts and his busy schedule and stuff that I don't care about.

I follow about 42 people in total.  Mostly musicians,  some joke accounts like Darth Vader, and a few friends.  None of my friends do anything on Twitter.  They realize that anything that can go on Twitter, can be put on facebook, and actually receive responses.  A few friends don't know that though, and that's why I didn't add them.  Just because we're friends, doesn't mean I care about you craving a muffin.

Secondly, Twitter has alerted me to articles about our new "alien ambassador".  Now that would be a cool job.  Unfortunately, its not real.  Let's pretend it is anyway.  Her name is Mazlan Othman.  Now why the hell did we (not really) appoint someone to represent humans, when their name is not even a vaguely human-sounding name.  Are we even sure SHE is human?  Is that how she got the job?  Also, she's apparently an astrophysicist.  Now, from what I've heard, astrophysicists aren't the most social of people.  They've got all this intelligence packed into one compartment, and nothing on the social side of things.  As my psych lecturer said only yesterday:  People can be "socially retarded".  Not saying my good ole' bud Mazlan is socially retarded, just sayin'.

Who would I prefer as alien ambassador?  I'd personally pick someone young-ish, mid thirties maybe, with some sort of political qualifications, who is a good negotiator.  He'd (yes, HE.  Like it or not ladies, men would be a better representative if we were to make contact with aliens.  It also represents our generally patriarchal society) have to have some sort position of power, not some douche off the street.

I wonder what sort of qualifications were needed?  From what I read, Mazlan already had a job as Head of Space Affairs or something, and alien ambassador was kind of tacked on at the end.  But what if I wanted to apply?  An 18 year old Australian girl, with a quarter of a degree in something completely unrelated.  Previous experience in fast food and a toy store.  I'd say I'm more than qualified to represent the human race.

Anyway, like I said earlier, its not real.  Damn.  Dreams are being shattered all over the place here.

I don't feel very good.  It's about 9am at the moment, and I feel like I'm hungover.  I don't usually get hangovers when I drink, so why do I get them when I purposely AVOID drinking?  Energy drink for breakfast.  I know it's probably terrible for me, and I don't gain anything from it, but I drink them anyway.  I don't know if there's actually a major difference between energy drinks, but for some reason, everyone has a preference.  I like Monster.  My parents get this confused with Mother, so when I ask them to buy me Monster, they get Mother.  I drink it anyway.

I just opened iTunes to have some music playing while I attempt to pull shit out of my ass for this blog.  I need to work on writing 2000 words a day for November. I set the challenge, and other people are taking it on, so I can't just fail at it.   I've managed to write at least 1500 for the last few blogs, so I just need to build on that.  I don't know how I even manage that, since most of my assignments are 1500 in length, and I struggle with them for weeks.  But if I just dribble shit, I can do 1500 no worries.

Back to my point.  I put on iTunes to hear some music.  It wants me to download another update.  What if I don't want to?  Oh, is that right iTunes?  You'll stop working if I don't?  God damn it, I guess I will then.  I'm not happy about that last update.  I had my library all set out nicely, exactly how I wanted it.  I download an update, and its entirely different.  Now there's shit everywhere, and I can't get rid of it.  And the logo thing is different too.  Why change it?  They somehow managed to change it to be more generic.  Now it's not distinctly iTunes, it's more like iGeneric Music Player.  I suppose that works.  Apple likes monopoly.  They want their program to be the generic music player, so the average computer user won't ever use another program.

Speaking of monopoly, that reminds me of a topic scheduled for November.  Monopoly.  Stay tuned for that exciting one.

Back onto the topic of music.  Katy Perry's California Girls (Gurls?).  The song isn't that terrible, but maybe I'm blinded by my infatuation with her.  So blinded that I can't hear.  That makes sense.  I mean, look at her. (also, look at that halterneck! See what it does?)

The song is the standard "let's party on the beach" kind of song.  It goes on about pretty girls, bikinis, beaches etc.  So you think the music video will be straightforward, and it will fit perfectly.  Apparently, Katy Perry is living in Bizzaro-California, some alternate reality where Snoop Dog is a giant, with an army of rude little gummy bears.  Its all candy and board game themed, because, y'know, the song is all about candyland board games.  Didn't you hear how many times she mentioned it in her song?

...

Clearly, this is an example of media misrepresentation.  I was lead to believe that California was an American state, known for its beaches, and slutty lay-around women.  Katy Perry has shown me the truth!  It's all a giant board game with cotton candy and tiny dresses, and no obesity or diabetes in sight (those pieces stay in the box) !

Don't worry.  I'm quite heterosexual, and I only obsess over certain females.  Namely you, "Ms OMG If you can find other females attractive, you MUST be attracted to me!".  Be at ease, you aren't my type.  My type  has stubble, a manly stench and a penis.  Or, since the people who know me are comparing this image to the image of someone else right now,  I'll settle for the potential for stubble, the stench of smoke (hey, I'm anosmic, but that's for another day), and a penis.  Not that penises are important.  It just makes them male.

Dad's home (I think).  So I'll finish this later.
